If You Put Your Pride and Theories Before the Evidence
TEAM™ is not for the scholar who wants to be book-right rather than clinically effective - or the philosopher who confuses religion with medicine and evidence. This system is built on clinical accountability. It is structured, replicable, and designed to be understood and applied with precision. Practitioners are equipped with the tools and methods to systematically deconstruct complex case presentations with clarity, confidence, and clinical skill.
One should never place themselves above or between the patient and the evidence with personal theories or assumptions. Your role is simple: to understand the presentation, gather the evidence, and let that evidence lead you to a precise formula and a complete treatment.
You Don’t Believe Herbs Are Toxic
Herbs are powerful - and with any power comes responsibility. Across countless ancient medical texts, herbs are described as medical toxins. They have a toxic nature attributed to its flavour that create a specific reaction to restore a natural function. All herbs must be understood and prescribed with this in mind. Even the gentlest herb, like Licorice Root (Gan Cao), possesses toxic properties that if used incorrectly will affect the heart function.
Viewing herbs as harmless or merely “natural” supplements is the first sign that your understanding and methods lack clinical seriousness - and this will be evident in your inability to treat complex disease presentations or your constant need to modify prescriptions due to inconsistent, unreliable, and unpredictable results.
The correct application of herbs can be clearly identified through their primary indications - and confirmed by the tongue coating, the pulse, and most importantly, the abdominal presentation. These diagnostic methods return your understanding to the way ancient medical doctors approached and prescribed herbs: with precision, evidence, and purpose.
Herbs Have a Single Indication
If you believe herbs can simply be added to nourish a function or state, you’ve been misled. What, then, would separate herbal medicine from Western medicine if your educe it to treating single symptoms without understanding the structure that created the presentation?
You cannot just modify a formula or add a herb to grow hair, fix the skin, or make someone fertile. Each herb has a precise function and a defined relationship within a formula structure. That structure is not designed to treat a symptom directly - it’s designed to restore a natural function. And when that function is restored, hair growth returns, the skin clears, and fertility will occur.
If you aim only to remove a symptom, you erase the reason it appeared - and the story the body is trying to tell you about what needs to be corrected. This is not the role of a master in the art of medicine.
If You Believe Herbal Medicine Is Alternative Medicine
TEAM™does not stand beside western medicine as its alternative - it stands as its own discipline. We should strive to work together, equally, but if you consider herbal medicine “alternative,” you’ve already placed it beneath something else.
We always consider medical tests and feedback - but our responsibility is to earnestly understand why the body is producing specific signs and symptoms. It’s about assembling the pieces of a puzzle to reveal the true picture. Every clinical clue contributes to a pattern that, when properly understood, points directly to treatment.
I’ve seen enough evidence in practice - treating over 60 patients a day - to know that herbs can and do create real, measurable changes in health. TEAM™ stands on its own evidence. Ancient herbal medicine was never meant to be complementary - it was once revered and respected – a complete system of medicine. And it should be seen that way again.
If You Guess and Have a Feeling About What To Do
If your diagnosis is vague, your treatment will be too. If you’re guessing - relying on feelings, or favourite herbs and formulas - your outcomes will be inconsistent and unreliable. TEAM™ replaces guesswork with structure and clarity. There must be cross-validation of information and pattern matching through multiple diagnostic inputs.
Is it acceptable that 100 TCM doctors could give 100 different diagnoses and formula structures for the same person? Letting go of what you were taught - or what you taught others - is hard. But if you can’t let evidence and results change your mind, you’re not practicing medicine; you’re defending a position.
If You Create Your Own Formulas Without Understanding Structure
Formulas are not ingredient lists - they are functional architectures, built from the inside out based on specific relationships and structures. If you’re mixing herbs without understanding the role and synergy of every herb, you are not understanding the toxic nature of herbs or truly addressing the disease presentation - you’re just hoping for results.
TEAM™ teaches structure first. It gives you the tools to understand and prescribe herbs with complete confidence in both your diagnosis and your treatment outcomes - so you no longer need to add random herbs or alter formulas with every consultation.
Treatment should produce the same outcome under the same conditions. If you prefer vague improvements or energetic impressions over clinical feedback, this system will challenge you. But if you want to become the version of yourself who knows instead of guesses - who leads with outcomes, not opinions - this is the work you will learn, love, and apply.
If You Wish to Continue Your Search
Most people are always searching - never applying. If you’re still browsing for “your truth” or collecting systems, TEAM™ won’t satisfy you, because it ends the search. This ancient method is measurable, clinical, and consistent. It gives you the tools and methods to create real, repeatable clinical change for any disease presentation with confidence.
For the first 10 years of my Chinese medicine journey, I sought out the “great”practitioners from around the world. But their results were always inconsistent and unreliable. I paid close attention to how they treated migraines and skin conditions - and no one could deliver immediate, reliable, and lasting outcomes. Now, those same presentations have become the easiest and quickest to identify and correct with actual evidence that can be measured and repeated.
Remember, there’s a difference between the books and the clinic. Many have a strong scholarly understanding - with impressive words and elaborate explanations - but they all fall apart in the clinic. True understanding and tests exist in the clinic. Our role is not to explain book knowledge, but to apply it to help those who are suffering with the utmost skill and clinical precision.
